BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Tuesday approved relief of Rs. 06 lakh to NoKs of road accident victims in a road safety meeting held at Mini Secretariat Bandipora. ARTO Bandipora, Anees Ahmad briefed the chair regarding the road accident cases of the District. After threadbare discussions, a total of 08 road accident cases were approved for relief to next of kin (NoKs) of road accident victims.
Out of 08 cases, 03 cases were granted Rs. 50,000 each, who have already availed interim relief of the same amount. Additionally, 04 other cases were approved for full relief of Rs. 1 lakh each besides one case also received interim relief of Rs. 50,000 for the NoKs of the accident victim.
On the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of timely assistance to the families of road accident victims and asked the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) to expedite the processing of pending cases to ensure the relief is provided in accordance with existing rules. Among others, the meeting was attended by CPO Mohammad Maqbool Lone, ARTO Anees Ahmad, CMO Dr.Rafi Ahmad Salathi, DySP C.L.Verma and other concerned.
