BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Narco Coordination (NCORD) committee, at mini secretariat Bandipora to review enforcement, prevention and rehabilitation efforts. The meeting discussed threadbare ongoing anti-drug initiatives, including enforcement actions, awareness campaigns and rehabilitation efforts, besides discussed progress made in addressing identified drug hotspots within the district.
At the outset, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl briefed the chair regarding action taken report of various departments. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), M.A.Qadri emphasised stringent measures against drug peddlers and others involved in illicit drug trade. He stressed for enhanced inter-departmental coordination to ensure effective enforcement of relevant laws.
The DC directed for intensified awareness campaigns targeting vulnerable sections. Hei highlighted the importance of a coordinated and multi-pronged approach to tackle the problem of drug menace and the need for proactive measures and community involvement.
He directed the Drugs Control department to intensify efforts and ensure regular monitoring of CCTVs installed in medical shops besides stressed on strengthening measures to combat the growing menace of drug abuse. Among others the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Zaffar Husson Shawl, ACD, ARTO, CMO, DIO, DySP and other concerned.
