JAMMU:  In celebration of Swachhta Pakhwada (September 1-15, 2024), Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee (Boys' Hostel) of Jammu Central University organized a "Swachhta Abhiyan". The event took place in the hostel premises and the surrounding areas.

Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor along with the Hostel Chief Warden, Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha, Hostel Warden, Dr. Priyank Sharma, and various students of the University, inaugurated the "Swachhta Abhiyan" and "Tree Plantation" drive. As part of the initiative, approximately 20 plants were planted in the hostel premises.

The event was organized with the support of Mr. Naveen Kumar, the Horticulture In-charge of the hostel, Mr. Praveen Kumar, the Caretaker, and Mr. Manish Kashyap, the Housekeeping In-charge. They played a significant role in preparing the outline for the event and contributed to the success of the "Swachhta Abhiyan" and tree planting activities.

Senior faculty members, officials, staff and students of the University actively participated in the "Swachhta Abhiyan" and "Tree Plantation" program. The hostel cleaning staff and gardeners also played an important role in the initiative. Through this Swachhta Abhiyan, the hostel warden, employees, and students pledged to keep the hostel premises clean and green.
