SRINAGAR: Cracking a whip on illegal mining & transportation of minerals, police have seized 03 vehicles and arrested 03 drivers in Baramulla. A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Incharge Police Post Old Town Baramulla seized 3 vehicles (2 tippers, 1 tractor) & arrested 3 drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Chakloo Baramulla.
They have been identified as Mohd Saleem Sofi son of Ab Rahim resident of Chakloo, Abid Ahmad Gojree son of Ab Rahman & Aqib Ahmad Gojree son of Gh Mohiuddin both residents of Drangbal Baramulla.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations taken up. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
