SRINAGAR: In the memory of police martyrs, police launched plantation drives in collaboration with Forest Department in Awantipora and Ganderbal under the theme of ‘ EK PED SHAHEEDON KE NAAM’.

In Awantipora, the plantation drive was launched by SSP Awantipora Shri Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS along with DFO Awantipora in the premises of District Police Lines Awantipora. DySP DAR, family members of police martyrs and other officers/officials of the Police Awantipora/Forest Division Awantipora also participated in the plantation drive.

In Ganderbal, police in collaboration with Forest Department launched plantation drive in the jurisdiction of PS Safapora in which saplings of different species of plants were planted at Eid-Gah Safapora and Eid-Gah Pehlipora in the loving memory of Martyr Ct. Fayaz Ahmad & Martyr SPO Abdul Rashid. The plantation drive was carried out under the supervision of DySP DAR DPL Ganderbal Shri Nazir Ahmad in which NOKs of police martyrs, SHO PS Safapora and other senior police officers & Forest Department participated whole-heartedly.

The initiative is being taken to inculcate the sense of patriotism and responsibility among the citizens towards the motherland, besides creating awareness about the supreme sacrifices of our brave hearts who gave ultimate sacrifice for the sake of the nation.
