JAMMU: Swachhta Pakhwada that commenced on 1st August 2024 was celebrated in the Directorate of Health Services Jammu and in health institutions and offices under the Directorate till 15th August 2024. The campaign was observed under the guidance of Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Magotra.

The Swachhta Pakhwada drive aims to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment towards ensuring cleanliness and hygienic environment in workplaces and surrounding areas. This initiative was part of a larger Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as the most fundamental transformative campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister.

Various activities were conducted throughout the campaign that started with administration of Swachhta pledge by all health employees, that focused on individuals dedication towards cleanliness, devoting hundred hours per year for cleanliness and propagating the message of Swachh Bharat Mission.  The other activities undertaken included Plantation Drive, Under the banner of “EK PED SHAHEEDON KE NAAM”, Cleanliness drive, Sanitation awareness, Rallies, Health check up of Sanitary workers, quiz competitions, Poster making.

At the Directorate of Health Services Jammu, an impressive Quiz competition related to Swachhta Pakhwada was conducted wherein staff from Government Hospital Gandhinagar, Government Hospital Sarwal, SDH Jagti, Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal and Directorate participated. The Quiz competition was designed to inculcate among the masses an awareness and understanding of Sanitation.

Informative awareness lectures on topics related to Swachhta Pakhwada were delivered by Director Health Services Jammu, Dy. Director Dentistry, Assistant Director HEB, Assistant Director Schemes of the Directorate. Similar activities were also conducted at all CMO Offices/District HQ and subordinate health institutions.
