JAMMU: Pertinent to mention here that National President Mahila Morcha Vijaya Rahatkar is in Jammu since 15th September to attend Mahila Swabhimaan Sammelans to reach out to women of the society over the Centre’s move to revoke provisions of Article 370 and in this connection, she addressed the womenfolk today in Akhnoor district.
BJP Mahila Morcha National President Vijaya Rahatkar alongwith National Vice President and Prabhari J&K Rashim Sood, State President Rajni Sethi, State Spokesperson &former MoS Priya Sethi, Dy. Mayor Purnima Sharma, Sheela Handoo, Ex MLA Rajeev Sharma, Dr. Krishan Bhagat, District Prabhari Neeru Anand, District Presidents Manmohan and Sharda Bhau lighted the traditional lamp during the programme.
Vijaya Rahatkar said that peace, prosperity and welfare of the Jammu and Kashmir is the “top most priority” for the PM and the people of J&K and Ladakh have always been betrayed and deprived of development in the name of Article 370 by those who ruled the state for the past seven decades. But now by the abrogation of Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put an end to this injustice. She addressed on the scrapping of Article 370 that New era has been begun in J&K and ladakh. The country has taken a historic decision.
The dreams of many of our leaders have been fulfilled. She said that the Abrogation of Article 370 was part of the party's core ideology audit had struck an emotional chord with the party workers after its ideogue. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee died in a J&K jail in 1953 to protest the state's special status. She added that earlier, residents of J&K could not avail the benefits under the laws that were applicable to the entire nation.
She said that today womenfolk from Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh are lavishing praise on Narender Modi and Amit Shah for the abrogation of controversial articles which will now protect the human rights of the women living in J&K and help them lead dignified life as promised by the Indian Constitution. She said now we all are "ONE" and it is possible only due to Modi Government 'Modi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai'.
BJP State Mahila Morcha President Rajni Sethi said due to the strong leadership at Centre under Prime Minister Modi, we have achieved the goal “Ek Vidhan-Ek Nishan”. Rajni Sethi said that after the Narendra Modi’s govt’s bold decision on J&K, women would no longer be deprived of their property rights if they get married to an outsider.
Rashim Sood has said that Article 370 is responsible for present situation in Kashmir Valley and it was anti-women, antidevelopment and anti-human rights. She added that the Article has only worked against democracy and welfare of women of J&K and the womenfolk were not petting due rights due to the Article 370 and 35A.
Priya Sethi said that “We, the citizens of J&K, we have got second freedom. Now, Jammu will move to an era of progress and prosperity.” It is also a tight slap on the face of the corrupt who had been siphoning off money provided by the central govt. for the development of the region. It is a historic decision as J&K has been integrated into the Union of India in the true sense. Article 370 was a wall hatred that prevented integration of J&K with India. State General Secretary Updesh Andotra conducted the proceedings and vote of thanks presented by Ex MLA Rajeev Sharma.
