SRINAGAR: The residents of old post office lane bota Kadal lal bazaar have shown a complete resentment over the behavior of district administration on water logged scenario , which have percolated their homes. The residents complained that they also visited DC Office Srinagar , but to their surprise all the officials paid deaf ears to their SOS Calls.
The locals are demanding for High speed water pumps as the water has entered their homes and has resulted in the development of cracks to various houses. “ This is really an apathy, despite various SOS calls to District Administration, They have not sent High Speed Water Pumps to old post office lane Bota Kadal , Lal bazaar. Due to recent Cloud burst at Bagi-Ali-Mardan khan which is only 800 Mts away from here and drainage failure & LAWWDA’s inability to dredge the Amda Kadal tributary of Nigeen lake , the water level has drastically increased, there is a continuous threat to human life and property , the water has entered various houses , some people have even shifted but the govt. seems to be in no mood to send High speed pumps to dewater the area.
I personally tried to call MLA Zadibal, but unfortunately his cellphone is not reachable. I request to DC Srinagar and MLA Zadibal to interviene and send the pumps on priority to this place else people are left with no option but to come on roads and protest for failure of reach of administrational help “ Said a social worker Er. Idrees ul haq “ The water level has raised due to drainage failure and failure of LAWDA for De-Silitation of Amda Kadal ; Tributary of Nigeen lake “ said a local, Mr. Ayub Ahmad khan It is pertinent to mention here that in April 2015, a house was collapsed due to water logging in the same area due to same inordinate delay of District administration for sending high speed dewatering pumps.
