Quipped with the idea to improve sanitation levels at Mini Secretariat Deputy Commissioner, Reasi-Sushma Chauhan chalked out a detailed plan for the shramdaan exercise. Employees and officials of all the blocks participated in the mission and offered to work (shramdaan) in clearing the office premises.
The cleaning activity at all the blocks was carried out extensively and to monitor and assess ‘shramdaan’, officials were appointed in each block as nodal officer. Later DC while addressing all the employees at conference hall of mini secretariat said, “We want to have a visible impact on people and help them understand that cleanliness is a serious issue,” and first phase of it is to start from our own offices.
She called upon the officials to dedicate at least two hours a week to promoting cleanliness at their workplace and the surroundings, adding that we should create mass awareness and inculcate lasting behavioral changes of maintaining hygiene among the people. The award for the best block in cleanliness went to administrative block and the award was received by Nodal Officer, Administrative Block (AD CAPD).
