- Div Com urges all DCs to remain vigilant on curbing of H1N1
SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal has convened a high level officers meeting here today to review the arrangements for curbing H1N1 disease, preparation for conducting 10th and 12th class examinations and construction of protection bunds on the banks of flood affected rivers in the Valley. The meeting was attended by all Deputy Commissioners of Valley, Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Kashmir, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director Education Kashmir and other officers.
While, review of Swine Flu disease treatment, the Director Health Services informed the Divisional Commissioner that the H1N1 is under control and no death case has happened for last two days in the valley. On this occasion, the Divisional Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners to keep vigil on the said disease. It was informed in the meeting that all the adequate arrangements were put in place for conducting examination of 10th and 12th classes in transparent manner.
Reviewing of functioning of Flood Control department, the Div Com was informed that construction work on bunds of rivers are in progress and Rs. 32 crore are being spend on them, out of which Rs. 22 crores have been utilized on the construction of these bunds. The Div Com reiterated upon the authorities to ensure complete demolition of encroachments on the river banks. Mr. Rohit Kansal directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure supply of free rations among the targeted ration holders besides, ensure distribution of timber among the flood victims. He further directed the concerned officers to furnish the bank account of flood victims to the concerned authorities at an earliest.
