UDHAMPUR: General Observer for the Parliamentary Constituency Srinagar, Neelesh Gatne along with Assistant Returning Officer (ARO)-Migrants Udhampur, Tanveer Ul Majid Wani and Zonal Officer (ZO) for Migrants, visited Udhampur district to assess the election preparedness for Kashmiri Migrants scheduled for May 13th, 2024.
During the visit, they took stock of the arrangements made at Special Polling Station Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur. The observer also inspected strong room and counting centre.
Later, the observer visited migrant habitations at Garhi and Jakheni and interacted with the migrant electors and enquired from them about various facilities being provided by the ECI.
The observer expressed satisfaction over the arrangements including SVEEP, transport and the draft electoral roll extract prepared for the migrants who opted to cast votes at the special polling station established at GGHSS Udhampur.
The Observer gave a patient hearing and issued directions for redressal. The General Observer instructed officials to ensure the implementation of safety measures and adherence to the Election Commission of India guidelines to ensure smooth and efficient election process.
