UDHAMPUR: An awareness workshop on swine flu was organised by district administration here today aimed to generate awareness among the people about swine flu virus. District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal presided over the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the workshop is aimed to reach out people for making them aware about the virus and precautions need to be taken. She emphasized upon the officers concerned to launch massive awareness campaign across the district so that people are protected from this fatal H1N1 virus.
“There is no need to go panic” said Mudgal and asked health officers to mobilize all available resources for protection of human lives. Senior doctor from District Hospital, Dr. Ram Saroop Gupta also gave power point presentation and explained about the type of virus, mode of its transmission in humans and precautions to be taken to prevent and control the disease.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Ajay Singh Jamwal, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mr. Pawan Parihar, Deputy Director P&S, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Arun Sharma, District Officers, NGOs & Red Cross Members, Senior citizens and religious leaders of the district attended the workshop.
