JAMMU: Department of Commerce in collaboration with Department of Student Welfare, University of Jammu and National Board for Worker Education and Development, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India today organized an awareness cum registration workshop for the students in the Seminar Hall of the Department of Commerce.
Dr. Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director was the resource person who deliberated on the verticals of Ministry of Labour and Employment. Thereafter, students were apprised about various Government schemes, programs and their eligibility. The awareness program aimed to improve the employability of workers, and to promote financial inclusion. The workshop helped the students to understand about various government-run-schemes and a digital platform was also provided to register the students for National Career Service Scheme, Ayushman Bharat health Account and E-Shram Card to name a few. Dr. Harleen welcomed the resource person and deliberated on the need of such awareness programs for the youth. Prof. Gurjeet Kaur and Dr. Sunil Kumar also attended the said event.
