JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tourism cell JKUT convenor Ravi Bakshi led a delegation to meet Director Vivekanand Rai and joint Director Mrs Sunaina Sharma Mehta of the tourism department in their office Jammu to highlight the issue faced by the tourists in the ongoing movement.
District Convenor Aditiya Gupta, Co- Convenor Charan Preet Singh Bagga and Ravi Kant from Udhampur, members of the UT tourism cell BJP also accompanied Ravi Bakshi, who is active since the last few years to make the journey and stay of tourists convenient in various destinations.
Ravi Bakshi said that tourism is the largest and fast-growing industry in the JKUT. It gives the opportunity to people to understand the culture, civilization and religion aspects of the visitors.
Jammu is a focal point for pilgrims going to Mata Vaishno Devi, all the routes leading to Kashmir, Poonch, Doda and Ladakh start from Jammu City, so the tourist spots in Jammu may be granted due consideration to attract the pilgrims by advertisement in all respective fields of media, said Bakshi.
Ravi Bakshi insisted that the tourism planning is required for Jammu region considering the needs of people planning for trip and using those resources to determine the best programs and activities for their trip, tourism planning is intended for local residents and businesses for the location, as well as tourists who travel there.
Bakshi shared that the District tourism cell teams of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur personally visited some of the spots themselves which can be weighty for visitors and an arrangement for smooth connectivity may be made by the tourism department. The other spots are such as world's highest railway bridge is constructed in Jammu, Gandola in Maha Maya Mandir with Bahu Fort, Bagh e Bahu with Bawe wali Mata, Ranbireshwar temple, Raghunath Mandir with Mubarak Mandi, Parmandal which is known as Chhota Kashi mark an attraction for tourists. Natha top, Patnitop, Nandini wildlife sanctuary, Mansar lake, Surinsar lake, Akhnoor Fort, Tawi Herbal Garden, More garh Fort and wet land at border area where foreign birds are observed.
Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Kathua district have so many beautiful spots which can serve as destinations for tourists. Especially the hilly terrains surrounding Ramnagar, Basant garh, Dudu, Latti, Sudhmaha Dev and Maantalai with picturesque beauty natural water streams, and mesmerizing topography can provide tourists with an alternative place of visit. Beside this the economy of the residents and backward area will be boosted.
JKUT BJP tourism cell submitted some tourist spots to the Director tourism for planning to explore Jammu as favourite tourist destination, which will to provide the many people of Jammu to earn livelihood in this season as the region is expecting more than 17 million tourists.
