- BJP leader slams Rahul Gandhi’s absence from Red Fort, CJI swearing-in, and Vice President’s Oath-taking
JAMMU: BJP Senior Leader and State Secretary, Pawan Sharma, today launched a scathing attack on Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of repeatedly undermining and insulting constitutional institutions. Sharma highlighted how Rahul Gandhi remained absent from three key occasions of national importance — the Independence Day address at the Red Fort, the swearing-in of the Chief Justice of India, and the oath-taking of Vice President Shri CP Radhakrishnan.
“Rahul Gandhi and Congress keep chanting the hollow slogan of ‘saving the Constitution’, yet when it comes to honoring the Constitution and its institutions, they are the first to turn their backs. This is not ignorance, this is deliberate disrespect,” Sharma said. He further added, “This consistent pattern of absence is a message in itself — Congress under Rahul Gandhi has no respect for democratic traditions or constitutional values. Their words are a mask, but their actions reveal their disdain for the nation’s institutions.”
Accusing Congress of double standards, Sharma stated, “The same Congress which talks of constitutional morality is the one that repeatedly weakened democratic institutions during its rule — from imposing the Emergency to misusing Article 356. Rahul Gandhi’s behavior is nothing but a continuation of this legacy of contempt for democracy.”
Drawing a sharp contrast, Sharma said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP has always worked to strengthen the Constitution and empower its institutions. Congress, on the other hand, survives only on negativity, hypocrisy, and anti-national theatrics.”
Concluding his statement, Sharma called upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the entire nation to reject the duplicity and arrogance of the Congress leadership. “Rahul Gandhi’s absence is not personal negligence — it is the Congress mindset. It is proof that their slogan of ‘saving the Constitution’ is nothing but a sham to mislead the people,” Sharma asserted.
