JAMMU: BJP State Spokesperson on Kashmir Affairs, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, in a statement said that there can be no compromise on the issues of terrorism, secessionism and corruption. Responding to the statement issued from Bishkek by the Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan that the relations between India and Pakistan are currently at the lowest ebb, Chrungoo said that it is a statement of fact.
The current status of relations between the two neighbours is a clear outcome of the Pakistan's foreign policy that has recognized terrorism as a strategic asset for Pakistan against India. Moreover, Pakistan has miserably failed to live up to its promise to disallow use of land under its control for terror infrastructure and training against India. Pakistan will have to publicly show up its intent to eliminate terrorism to the global community. It is only then, that the dialogue process can have some hope to restart. Pakistan has been currently recognized as the epicentre of global terrorism and it is up to the State of Pakistan to come clean on the issue.
Chrungoo said that the wishes of the Hurriat Conference for any Indo-Pak dialogue are preposterous since government of Pakistan has ceased to be an institution that can be taken on its face value. It needs prima facie to produce results particularly on the terror front internally and externally. The so-called theory of Pakistan about the "non-state actors being responsible for terrorism" is now altogether redundant. Pakistan had never any locus in Kashmir issue particularly when the people of Jammu and Kashmir gave an overwhelming verdict in favour of the Indian constitution and democracy all the time for the last seven decades. Hurriat, instead should take into confidence the religious, social and civil leadership of the valley to persuade the men-with-gun to surrender before law and help in establishment of peace and end terrorism.
Since elimination of terrorism is essential to the establishment of peace, therefore the valiant security forces are doing their job very well and are in the process to secure peace for the state. They are paying a very high price in discharge of their sacred duties. Modi government has given the forces free hand to tackle the situation and AFSPA is an instrument to help them cleanse the State of terror mechanism and terrorism of any sort.
Reacting to Farooq Abdullah, NC President that the Centre is trying to influence the Assembly polls in the state, Chrungoo maintained that the NC leader is unfortunately oblivious of the ground realities in Jammu and Kashmir. The whooping score of 47% across the state in favour of BJP is an expression of the people's choice. In such a situation, the central government would like to have the elections anytime.
Since Amaranth Yatra, harvesting season and the nomadic peoples' movement are due for the next four months, so the Government has taken the right step to extend the President's rule in the state. NC has been always interested in regional, communal and sectarian politics in the state and it unleashed a family feudal political system in the state that some other powerful families also tried to emulate in politics.
BJP will ensure end of such family feudal political system as it has been the root cause of exploitation of the common people in the state. Corruption and nepotism have nurtured this system to the hilt for the last seven decades. Time has come for the state to move forward under the broad canvass of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas".
