SRINAGAR: The Summer Camp 2024, organized by Chief Education Officer Srinagar at GGHSS Kothibagh, witnessed a successful visit from Project Director Samagra Shiksha, accompanied by Mr. Ajeet Kumar, State Coordinator Samagra Shiksha, and Mr. Mohammed Rameez Khan, Chief Accounts Officer, Samagra Shiksha. The program focused on Reduce Waste Activities and showcased the talent and creativity of the students of GGHSS Kothibagh through a Model Exhibition on Best Out Of Waste, Donation Drive, and Segregation of Waste.
Mr. Abdul Hamid Fani, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, welcomed the dignitaries and emphasized the importance of educating students, parents, and community members about the 7 themes of Summer Camps, aiming to collectively contribute towards land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.
Project Director Samagra Shiksha interacted with the students, individually appreciating their art forms and talent. Project Director Samagra Shiksha extended his heartfelt appreciation to Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Mr. Abdul Hamid, for his exceptional efforts in elevating the Summer Camps in District Srinagar to great heights, effectively transformed it into a mass movement. He commended the efforts of Ms. Nusrat Bukhari, Principal GGHSS Kothibagh, and her staff, acknowledging the enthusiasm and participation of students, parents.
Furthermore, Project Director Samagra Shiksha expressed his gratitude towards Ms. Nazrana, the District Nodal Officer for Summer Camps, Srinagar, and all the 8 Zonal Nodal Officers of District Srinagar.
Later, the visit extended to the Regional Level Model Making Competition under the Aghaz initiative in Jammu and Kashmir, established by Samagra Shiksha, Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. The competition was graced by esteemed dignitaries and showcased the depth of knowledge and talent of the students.
The competition was graced by Shri Anuraj Pandey, EdTech Ass. Faculty, SATHEE initiative, Department of CSE, IIT Kanpur, and Prof. Sajad Masudi, Department of Physics, University of Kashmir.
In his address, Project Director Samagra Shiksha expressed confidence in the mission of the Aghaz initiative and directed escort teachers to make Aghaz Labs a place of visit in their communities, emphasizing the overall development of students through these facilities.
The jury was headed by eminent Physicist Prof Sajad Masudi from Kashmir University and Shri Anuraj Pandey From IIT Kanpur and Mr Fayaz Ahmad Bhat from SCERT , Kashmir Division.
The competition saw Ms. Hoor Ul Nisa from Girls High School Drugjan, Srinagar, clinching the First Position in the Junior Level, and Ms. Suman Zehra from HSS Shadipora, Bandipora, secured the first position in the Senior Level. The top 5 winners in both categories were awarded with Certificates and mementos, while all participants were felicitated for their participation.
Mr. Ajeet Kumar, State Nodal Officer, extended his gratitude to all participants and dignitaries for their valuable contributions to the program. He thanked Ms Sheikh Wahida Principal GGHSS Khanyar and her team for providing logistic support.
