SHOPIAN: The District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of Shopian district for the 3rd quarter of financial year 2014-15 was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Bhat. Apart from Lead District Manager, RBI officer, Chief Planning Officer, officers from various Govt. Departments and Branch Heads of different Banks attended the meeting.
During the course of meeting, it was stated that CD ratio of the district has been continuously above 100% for the last many quarters and for the present quarter CD ratio of 138% was recorded by lending advances of Rs. 798 crores. A total of 15 outdoor Awareness Camps have been conducted during the quarter. While speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner stated that district Shopian has become the Ist district to have covered all households under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) by covering each household of the district with at least one bank account.
It was further stated that the percentage of priority sector advances to the total advances is at 90% against the mandatory requirement of 40%. The District Development Commissioner directed the departments and Banks to work in close coordination to process the self employment cases at the earliest.
BARAMULLA: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Tehsildar Baramulla along with a team of Officers made a surprise visit to Public Health Centre Sheeri. During the inspection, it was found that two officials were absent. The Officials have been placed under suspension and enquiry has been ordered accordingly.
BANDIPORA: District Magistrate Bandipora has imposed ban on sale, purchase and plantation of Russian Poplar Trees in the district. This is in view that the pollen from these trees becomes a nuisance for the general public leading to irritation or allergic disorders during summer season, particularly among the school going children and people suffering from chest, throat and other chronic diseases.
The District Magistrate directed Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora to ensure seizure of all Poplar saplings being transported by placing Nakas at suitable places. In this regard, all Tehsildars of the district will also take similar necessary action.
SRINAGAR: A Lok Adalat was held on February 25, 2015 for Motor Accidental Claims at District Court Complex, Sannat Ghar Bemina under the chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Rashid Ali Dar who is also the Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar and was presided over by District and Session Judge, Mr. Jawad Ahmad who is also Presiding Officer MACT and Additional Special Judge TADA/POTA, Mr. Sikandar Azam.
As many as 35 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 9 cases were settled amicably on spot. An amount of Rs. 20,80,000/- was awarded as compensation against various accidental claims. Meanwhile, a Lok Adalat was conducted at Court Complex, Bijbehara under the chairmanship of Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee who is also Sub Judge Bijbehara. One bench was constituted which was presided over by Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bijbehara.
Mr. Madan Lal, Mr. Mohammad Amin Dar and Mr. Khursheed Imam Advocates attended the bench as members. As many as 45 cases of different nature were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 29 cases were settled amicably.
BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Talat Parvaiz along with a team of officers comprising Principal District and Sessions Judge, Raja Shajat Ali, SSP Baramulla, Mir Suhail and officers from R&B, PHE and other departments made a visit to the District Jail Baramulla today. During the visit, Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive account of the facilities available at the District Jail. Apart from electricity, water supply, health services and hygiene, other basic requirements were also checked on the occasion. The team also interacted with the prisoners and heard their problems patiently.
ANANTNAG: National Lok Adalat is scheduled to be held on March 14, 2015 at District Court ADR Centre Anantnag in which cases related to Revenue, land acquisition and NREGA shall be taken up for amicable settlement. All the interested persons who intend to put up their cases for pre-litigation and post litigation before the proposed Lok Adalat are directed to approach the District Legal Services Authority Anantnag by or before March 02, 2015.
JAMMU: In order to carry out preventive maintenance work in the switch yard and panels of 33/11 KV Receiving Station, BB-II at Bari-Brahmana, emanating from 132/33 KV Grid Station BB-II, the power supply to the Industrial feeders feeding from 11 KV outgoing feeders i.e BB-21, BB-22, BB-23, BB-24 & BB-25 and its adjoining areas fed from Receiving Station, will remain affected on 1-03-2015 (Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
ANANTNAG: The Pahalgam Development Authority and Municipal Committee, Pahalgam has continued its demolition drive with active support of Police and District Administration Anantnag. The Pahalgam Development Authority today demolished 27 structures which were raised illegally on Mall road and parking place near Petrol Pump. The field staff of Pahalgam Development Authority is surveying all the areas for identification of illegal structures which will be demolished in near feature. The PDA appreciated cooperation of the local people for removal/ demolition of illegal structures on the bank of River Lidder. The Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Bhat stated that no illegal structure / construction will be allowed in and around Lidder River.
BARAMULLA: Annual Orthopaedic CME programme was today organized by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir at Baramulla. On the occasion, Director Health Services, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman was the chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Mr. Talat Parvaiz was the guest of honour. Besides, Doctors working at various Health Institutions mainly District Hospital Baramulla participated in the function. During the function, Professors and Doctors of various Health Institutions including SKIMS Soura, Medical College Bemina and District Hospital Baramulla deliberated upon various topics in three sessions.
KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner Kupwara today convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers of the district to review the performance of these sectors under implementation of Border Area Development Programme (BADP). It was given out that Rs 137.66 lakhs are being utilized by the PDD on execution of 52 developmental works, out of these 20 works have been completed under BADP. While as, Rs 7.78 lakhs have been expended on the execution of Storage Tank at Sherkoot by PHE under BADP.
The Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara informed the meeting that four health centres under R&B and 10 PHCs under RDD are in progress at various stages of completion in the district. He informed the meeting that 30544 persons were treated in OPD while another 3000 patients were treated in ARI sector from 16th January, 2015. Under education sector Rs 10.31 lakhs have been released for implementation of the scheme, Girls Middle School, Diver (Lolab) and Middle school Rawathpora (Villgam) school building have been completed under the programme and Rs 6 lakhs have been expended on these works during current fiscal, while work on various school buildings are in progress, as 60% works have been completed physically.
The Chief Agriculture Officer who was present in the meeting has given out that Rs 62.25 lakhs have been released under BADP in which Rs 30 lakh have been utilized till January 2015 and inspection hut at Drangla, Agriculture Farm and Soil Conservation buildings in Langat are near completion.
The District Development Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned officers to submit the detailed report of targets, achievements, funding components in collaboration with the CPO, Kupwara before they attend the review meetings. However he impressed upon the concerned engineers and line departments to complete all ongoing works within the stipulated time frame so that people are able to avail the facilities of the programme launched for the purpose.
BANDIPORA: According to Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, in case of fair weather conditions, air sorties for airlifting stranded Passengers will be put in operation tomorrow on February 27 between Bandipora and Gurez. The Passengers Stranded at Bandipora who want to reach Dawar, Neeru, Kanzalwan or Buduab Tulail have been asked to report at Samarwani Helipad on February 27 at 8.30 am. The stranded Passengers in Gurez will also be airlifted to Bandipora on return.

RAMNAGAR: To discuss the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Chauntra Mata Annual yatra during coming Navratras starting from 21st March 2015, a meeting of Officers and Akhand Jyoti members was held here under the chairmanship of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Ramnagar, Dhirendra Sharma. Threadbare discussions were held regarding arrangements like drinking water, power supply, security, first-aid, transport and sanitation at the Shrine site and en-route.
SDM directed the officers concerned to put in their best efforts for ensuring smooth conduct of the yatra. Pertinent to mention here that the Akhand Joyti would be lit on first day of Navratra at Narsingh Ji Temple in Ramnagar town and would remain there for darshan on 21st March, 2015 and would be carried to Chountra Mata Darbar on 22nd March, 2015 morning. Among others, the meeting was attended by Tehsildar, Ramnagar, Dr. Kavita Pandoh, BMO, Rajesh Gupta and Station House Officer, Ramnagar.
