SRINAGAR: A Lok Adalat was held on February 25, 2015 for Motor Accidental Claims at District Court Complex, Sannat Ghar Bemina under the chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Rashid Ali Dar who is also the Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar and was presided over by District and Session Judge, Mr. Jawad Ahmad who is also Presiding Officer MACT and Additional Special Judge TADA/POTA, Mr. Sikandar Azam.
As many as 35 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 9 cases were settled amicably on spot. An amount of Rs. 20,80,000/- was awarded as compensation against various accidental claims. Meanwhile, a Lok Adalat was conducted at Court Complex, Bijbehara under the chairmanship of Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee who is also Sub Judge Bijbehara. One bench was constituted which was presided over by Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bijbehara.
Mr. Madan Lal, Mr. Mohammad Amin Dar and Mr. Khursheed Imam Advocates attended the bench as members. As many as 45 cases of different nature were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 29 cases were settled amicably.
