• New criminal laws & women safety

PULWAMA: Continuing its community outreach initiatives under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Pulwama organised an awareness programme at Government Higher Secondary School Hawal, Pulwama aimed at educating students about the dangers of drug abuse, provisions of the new criminal laws, and issues concerning women safety.

The programme was conducted by Women Police Station Pulwama, during which police officers interacted with students and faculty members and highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society. Participants were encouraged to stay away from drugs and play an active role in spreading awareness against the menace.

Besides anti-drug awareness, the participants were sensitized about the newly introduced criminal laws, legal rights, and various provisions relating to the safety and protection of women. The officers also discussed different forms of crimes against women and the legal remedies available to victims.

Students were advised to remain vigilant and immediately report any incidents related to drug abuse, drug trafficking, or other unlawful activities. The programme concluded with an appeal for collective community participation in building a drug-free, safe, and responsible society. J&K Police remains committed to strengthening public awareness and youth engagement through sustained outreach programmes across the district.
