HANDWARA: In the wake of the severe hailstorm and heavy rains that struck the Rajwar area on Friday, causing extensive damage to agricultural and horticultural crops as well as public infrastructure, the Additional Deputy Commissioner,(ADC), Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, has ordered an immediate joint assessment of the affected areas.
According to an official order issued on June 5, 2026, the Tehsildar Zachaldara, Horticulture Development Officer Rajwar, and Agriculture Extension Officer Rajwar have been directed to conduct a joint spot inspection of the affected villages. The officers have been tasked with assessing losses to horticultural and agricultural crops and submitting a detailed damage assessment report within three days.
The order further directs the Executive Engineer PMGSY Handwara, Executive Engineer R&B Handwara, Executive Engineer I&FC Handwara, Tehsildar Zachaldara, and Block Development Officer Rajwar to jointly verify damages caused to roads, drainage systems, water channels, and other public infrastructure due to the hailstorm and flash floods.
The concerned officers have been instructed to assess the extent of damage and submit a comprehensive report to the administration within two days. The order has been issued to ensure timely assessment and facilitate necessary relief and restoration measures in the affected areas.
