BANDIPORA: District Legal Services Authority Bandipora today organised Special Lok Adalat on Contentious cases  marking  a significant milestone in the pursuit of accessible and efficient justice for all citizens.

The nationwide initiative, organized under the aegis of the J&K Legal Services Authority brought together legal professionals, Judges, and community members to resolve pending cases through an expedited and amicable process.

In Bandipora the Special Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority, (Pr. District & Session Judge) Bandipora, Jeema Bashir and guidance of  Sheikh Babar Hussain Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora. 

A total of five Benches were constituted for the  Special Lok Adalat on contentious cases comprising of Presiding Officers and Members for amicable settlement/compromise of the referred cases.

The First Bench was presided over by Jeema Bashir, Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) Bandipora and Adv. Malik Mushtaq acted as a member. The Second Bench was presided over by Additional district Judge Bandipora, Ahsan Parvez Malik and Adv.G.M.Bhat acted as member functioning  from the court of Additional District Judge Bandipora stationed at Sumbal. The Third Bench was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate Sub-Judge, Bandipora, Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, and Adv.Sofi Parvez acted as member.

The Fourth Bench was presided over by Amandeep Singh, Chairman TLSC (Munsiff/JMIC) Bandipora and Adv. Amir Shafi acted as a member to the said Bench. The Fifth Bench comprised of Rahila Rashid (Munsiff/JMIC) Sumbal and Adv. Mushtaq Ahmad Hura as member.

During the Special Lok Adalat on Contentious cases different types of cases were taken up including  Bank Recovery Cases, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Labour Disputes, Revenue Cases, Money Suit, NI Act u/s 138, MACT, Matrimonial, Traffic Challans, BSNL Cases, and other Civil Cases.

During the  Special Lok Adalat  65 Cases were taken up by the Benches and out of which 21 Cases were settled as disposed and ₹ 12,83,500 was awarded to the aggrieved parties by settlement.
