Kashmir's intellectual fraternity mourns renowned columnist, author, medico & social activist Dr. Javid Iqbal

• Senior Counsel Adv. Zaffar Shah-led delegation visits bereaved family, offers condolences & prays for Jannat-ul-Firdous

SRINAGAR: A delegation led by Senior Counsel Advocate Zaffar A. Shah, G.N. Var, Chief Patron of the Private Schools Association (PSA) and Joint Secretary NISA and Dr. Owais Mattoo, Director Media & Communications, Private Schools Association (PSA), visited the residence of the bereaved family to personally offer their condolences and express solidarity following the demise of renowned columnist, author, academician, medico and distinguished social activist Dr. Javid Iqbal.

During the visit, the delegation conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. They described Dr. Javid Iqbal's passing as a monumental loss not only to his family but also to the intellectual, academic and social landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a joint condolence message issued to the press, they paid rich tributes to the departed intellectual, describing him as a rare personality who successfully combined scholarship, social consciousness, humanitarian values and professional excellence throughout his life.

"Dr. Javid Iqbal was not merely a doctor, writer or academician; he was a thoughtful voice of reason and conscience whose writings enlightened minds, encouraged critical thinking and promoted social awareness. His contributions transcended professional boundaries and touched countless lives across Jammu and Kashmir," they said.

They further said that Dr. Javid's literary works, columns and public engagements reflected his deep understanding of society and his unwavering commitment to truth, knowledge and public welfare. Through his powerful pen and dedicated service, he consistently highlighted pressing social issues and advocated for a more informed, compassionate and progressive society.

"At a time when society greatly needs intellectual leadership and moral courage, the loss of a personality like Dr. Javid Iqbal is deeply felt. His wisdom, humility, scholarly excellence and dedication to public service earned him respect far beyond academic and professional circles," the statement read.  The leaders said that Dr. Javid's remarkable legacy would continue to inspire educators, writers, students, professionals and social activists for generations to come.

"His life was a shining example of how knowledge can be used as a force for social good. While his physical presence is no longer among us, his ideas, writings and humanitarian contributions will remain alive in the collective memory of our society," they added.  Terming his demise as an irreparable loss to the intellectual and social fabric of Jammu and Kashmir, they extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues and admirers of the deceased and prayed for strength and patience for them during this difficult period.

The leaders prayed that Almighty Allah may forgive his shortcomings, grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless the bereaved family with courage, fortitude and Sabr-e-Jameel to bear this immense loss. "Indeed, the passing of Dr. Javid Iqbal marks the end of a remarkable chapter in the intellectual and social history of our society, but his legacy of knowledge, compassion and service shall continue to illuminate generations to come."
