- Cleanlines checks diseases, need to make it regular habit
JAMMU: Claiming that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) is becoming a ‘Mass Movement’ across the country, BJP State Spokeperson Balbir Ram Rattan said that the tremendous response from the people to this campaign is the indicator of the fact that people have realized the importance ofpolution free environment. “Launched last year on Gandhi Jayanti by Prime Minister Narender Modi, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, who had always emphasized on keeping the surroundings neat and clean”.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the dirt, dust, piling of garbage, stagnated water become breeding grounds for a number of diseases and many a times, such diseases are epidemic which consume large number of precious lives. Stressing that each one of us should keep our surroundings clean, Balbir said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has now reached every nook and corner of the country and with each passing day more and more people from all walks of life are getting associated with it, which has turned out to be a mass movement in post Independent India.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that it is neither a political mission nor an individual’s programme but a noble cause which was launched with a sole motive of making the people aware about the importance of making cleanliness as part of our life. The clean Bharat can attract more visitors from the other countries who often avoid visiting India because of unhygienic conditions prevailing in the country.
After its inception, just one year ago, government officials, jawans, Bollywood celebrities, sportspersons, Industrials, educational Institutions, NGOs have voluntarily dedicated themselves to the cause of making India clean. Need of the hour is that the political parties, social organizations, social activists and the public in general, who are so for aloof towards this movement, should take pledge on Gandhi Jayanti to pay their tributes Mahatma Gandhi by associating themselves with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
