RAMBAN: As part of its drive to evict the recorded and unrecorded illegal encroachments from forests, a team of officers led by Divisional Forest Officer, Batote, Zahid Aslam Mughal and assisted by the Forest Protection Force Gama Unit J-9 officers under the supervision of Conservator of Forests, MP Dogra retrieved 95 kanal forest land.
According to a handout issued by the Forest department, the team including DFO Zahid, Deputy Director, FPF, J-9 Gama Unit Rajan Singh, Ranger S S Chib carried out raid at village Ballout in district Ramban and destroyed a standing maize crop on 95 kanal encroached forest land. They also destroyed the brushwood and standing maize crop on the spot. Reportedly, two houses have also been constructed illegally on the encroached forest land.
