- Issue directions for formulation of DPR, temporary restoration
JAMMU: On the directions of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Minister for Forest & Social Welfare, Mr. Bali Bhagat and Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. Altaf Bukhari, today visited the site of Niki Tawi Bridge, falling in Raipur-Domana constituency that was extensively damaged in recent floods and rains and took stock of the situation. Chief Engineer R&B, Mr. Abdul Hamid, Development Commissioner Works, Mr. Tehsin Mustaffa, Managing Director, JKPCC, Mr. P.L.Bhushan and other officers accompanied the Ministers.
The Ministers issued necessary instructions to the officers for temporary restoration of bridge and repair of approach road to give immediate succour to the people of the area. They directed the concerned to formulate a DPR for the construction of the damaged portion of the bridge so that the funds were arranged. The Ministers also interacted with the locals and listened to their grievances. They informed them that more than two dozen habitations have been affected due to the damage to the bridge and requested for immediate restoration of same.
