BANDIPORA: As per the directions of High Court, the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora today initiated demolition drive against encroachments over river Jhelum in district Bandipora. A special team of officers headed by SDM Sumbal, SDPO Sumbal, S.E. Hydraulic Bandipora and other Revenue Officers over saw the demolition of many sheds and other encroachments on the Jhelum Banks, many structures were bulldozed in village Shadipora, Wangipora and Naninara. The Deputy Commissioner said that the drive will continue across the full length of the river from Sarai Dangerpora to Bonyari and for this purpose notices have been issued to the encroachers.
