- S. Manjit Singh assures equitable development, if Zafar sahab gets elected to Parliament
- Says Party committed to push for timely completion of railway line network in the Region
POONCH: Assuring overall development, road infrastructure, and railway line connectivity to the Pir-Panjal, the Apni Party held meetings with the people of Poonch district in the ongoing election campaign that has attracted overwhelming response from the masses for the developmental agenda of the Party. These meetings were held in support of the Party candidate for the Rajouri – Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Zafar Iqbal Manhas sahab. The meetings were arranged by District General Secretary, Surjan Singh.
The Party has also connected door to door campaigns in many areas and educated people about the policy of the Apni Party to bring prosperity with the generation of employment, improvement in the educational and health sector, and promotion of the tourism sector in Rajouri and Poonch District.
“The overall development is possible when a native representative is elected to the Lok Sabha from Rajouri – Anantnag seat,” S. Manjit Singh said while addressing one of the meetings here at village Degwar, Aala Peer in Poonch’s ward number 17.
The Former Minister addressed several such meetings in which he said that the region deserves more attention from the Govt and adequate flow of funds to revamp the developmental activities, and connect every village with the road, and provide electricity and health care facilities.
He said that if Zafar Iqbal Manhas is elected to the Parliament, he would bring innovative changes in the Region that has faced deliberate neglect for over seven decades.
“The MPs in the past whosoever had been elected, hardly listened to the people, or visited these areas after their election to the Parliament. Zafar sahab is a native of Poonch District. Hence, he personally knows the issues confronted by the people,” he added.
In another meeting at Poonch City, he said that as far as the road connectivity with the Kashmir valley is concerned, the Party is seriously concerned that the Mughal Road should be opened for 12 months for the commuters, and truckers so that the people can move freely on the important highway that links Rajouri – Poonch with rest of the Valley as an alternative route.
He further said that the Party is committed to press for the construction of two tunnels at Peer Ki Gali, and Dera Ke Gali, and will leave no stone unturned to get a separate Parliamentary seat for Pir – Panjal.
“We believe that the region has long been neglected. Therefore, the people should elect their own representative, who shall remain available to them, and resolve their concerns,” he added.
He said that “We have committed that we will fight for a Hill Development Council to develop the region on the pattern of Ladakh.” He said that the region has huge potential for tourism which would generate employment and boost the local economy as well as improve the road connectivity with the inflow of the tourists.
“We have chalked out plans of infrastructural development, improved education, health sector, and other basic amenities in favour of the residents of Rajouri – Poonch. However, these developmental policies can be implemented if Zafar sahab is elected to the Parliament,” he added.
Meanwhile, SC President of the Party, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Provincial President, Jammu, Women Wing, Pavneet Kour, Laba Ram, Mangat Ram, and others also spoke on the occasion and informed people about the developmental agenda of the Party.
Prominent among those who were present in these meetings include Capt. Chait Singh, Parmjeet Singh, Per Sanjeet Singh, Dilbar Singh, Sukhmeet Singh, Rajinder Singh, Harcharan Singh, Gurucharan Singh, and others.
