REASI: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Reasi Sukhdev Singh Samayal on Thursday chaired the District-Level Narco Coordination (NCORD) centre meeting here in the DC Office to review and enhance efforts against drug abuse in the district.
During the meeting, ADDC emphasized the crucial role of multiple departments, including police, education, health, and others, in tackling the menace of drug abuse. He directed the stakeholders departments to launch a massive awareness drive in every village each week until the entire district is covered. The District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) was instructed to compile reports on these awareness programs from the concerned departments.
The ADDC also instructed the police department to adopt strict measures against those involved in drug peddling. Additionally, he stressed the need to identify and rehabilitate victims of drug abuse through institutional support. The meeting was attended by ADC Rakesh Kumar, PO ICDS Mohd. Anwar Bandey, CMO, CEO, DSP (HQ) Neeraj Padyar and other concerned officers.
