KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today flagged off a group of farmers on three 3 Day "Exposure Visit" to Doda and Bhaderwah under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The flag-off ceremony was held at the Mini Secretariat, New DC Office, where a group of more than 50 farmers, including women farmers from different parts of the district, embarked on this educational tour.
Key components of the HADP exposure visit include the promotion of year-round mushroom cultivation and the promotion of commercial floriculture. The exposure visit will take farmers to KVK Bhaderwah, the Food Processing Centre, the High-Tech Poly Greenhouse in Doda, and the Controlled-Condition Cropping Room in Bhaderwah. This initiative aims to enhance their knowledge and skills in soil health management, sustainable hill agriculture, and modern farming techniques.
Additionally, the visit will focus on educating farmers about various beneficiary-oriented schemes, advancements in agricultural technologies, and opportunities to interact with progressive farmers in the floriculture sector and agricultural scientists. The farmers are being accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Amjad Hussain Malik, who, along with experts, will guide them through various renowned agricultural units. The participants will also gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing process of value-added agricultural products.
