SHOPIAN: National Anti-Leprosy Day was observed with great fervor at the Meeting Hall, Mini Secretariat Shopian today. The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Shopian Dr. Arshad Hussain Tak and  District Nodal Officer Leprosy Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Naikoo delivered an enlightening presentation on leprosy awareness.

The event was attended by a diverse group of medical professionals, including Community Health Officers (CHOs), Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), ASHA Coordinators, and other health experts  to reaffirm their commitment to eradicating leprosy. On the occasion, free blankets, footwear, and other essential items were distributed to leprosy patients to address their immediate needs.

The participants underscored the importance of continued awareness and support for leprosy patients and need of  collective effort of the healthcare community in Shopian to combat this disease.
