RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today chaired two separate meetings to review the status of birth and death registrations in the district, besides online services, with particular focus on those provided by the Revenue department. The meeting focused on identifying reasons for pendency and ensuring timely processing of applications seeking birth and death registrations.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to prioritize the clearance of pending cases. To streamline the process, he instructed Block Medical Officers (BMOs), Executive Officers (EOs), and Block Development Officers (BDOs) to hold joint meetings every week to address pending cases efficiently. Additionally, the Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) were directed to regularly review progress and submit action-taken reports.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri was tasked with ensuring the timely flow of birth-related information to facilitate prompt registration. The Deputy Commissioner also emphasized strict scrutiny in cases of home birth registrations. He directed that before processing such cases, a verification report must be obtained from the concerned BMO.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Maqsood Ahmed, Medical Superintendent GMC, Shamim Ahmed, CMO, Manohar Rana, BDO's and EO'S. Later, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the delivery of online revenue services . The meeting focused on enhancing efficiency in services delivery, streamlining land-related processes, and addressing public grievances.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all Tehsildars to ensure the prompt processing of online revenue applications, including issuance of certificates, mutations, and other essential services. He emphasized the need for transparency and efficiency in handling public requests. To facilitate developmental projects and investment opportunities, the Deputy Commissioner instructed Tehsildars to prioritize land bank creation.* He directed them to identify suitable land patches and issue Non-Encumbrance Certificates (NEC) to facilitate smooth transactions and government initiatives.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of resolving land disputes within their respective jurisdictions to prevent legal complications and public inconvenience. He urged revenue officials to proactively address disputes and maintain updated land records. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Rajouri, Mohd Jahangir Khan and all Tehsildars of the district.
