JAMMU: Lieutenant Ayoosh Gupta, the son of soil, has brought laurels to J&K and his parents as well when he became part of prestigious passing out parade of Officers Training Academy (OTA), in Chennai on March 7th. Ayoosh Gupta, an alumni of Balwant Rai Mehta Vidya Bhawan School, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi upto 4th Class and in KV Nagrota School upto 12^th class stole the show at prestigious passing out parade of Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. The occasion also has exceptional uniqueness for the Jammu and Kashmir as the parade marked presence of Youngman from Jammu who passed out from Officers Training Academy.

After passing 12th class from KV Nagrota School, he completed Electronic and Communication Engineering from MIER Jammu and served at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS ) Gurgoan for nearly 10 months. However, his childhood wish and desire to serve Indian Army was always there and as a result of which despite earning handsomely from a reputed company, he cleared SSB from Kapoorthala to join Indian Army as an officer to serve his motherland. Lieutenant Ayoosh Gupta’s mother Anita Gupta and his sister Vaneeka Gupta, who is serving as an Lecturer in Music and Fine Arts at Jammu University (JU) on adhoc basis, also wanted him  to serve Indian Army. His father, Rajiv Mahajan, is Editor-In-Chief of 'Top News of J&K' (Eveninger) and member of several social and religious organizations.

Lieutenant Ayoosh Gupta brought laurels to his alma natter, his family and his soil with his hard work and commitment. The induction ceremony was held with full military regalia and splendour in the picturesquely decorated Drill Square at the OTA Chennai which trained the young Army Officers with a motto Shaurya (valour), Gyan (knowledge) and Sankalp (determination) to defend the boundaries of Nation.

Before their passing out, the young officers were administered the traditional oath by academy adjutant. Lieutenant Ayoosh Gupta explains that his achievement was possible only because of his parents’ support, besides his passion to serve the nation. Expressing gratitude to his parents, he said, “My parents have always been my inspiration and I would do anything for their happiness. They have been very supportive throughout and I am glad that they are here today watching me at OTA Chennai.” Lieutenant Ayoosh Gupta mother Anita Gupta said, “my son was always good in studies and I was never worried about his career but I had never imagined him reaching this far.” 

The event was followed by the Oath Taking Ceremony. The audience, gathered at the Piping Lawn under the proudly fluttering “Tricolour” placed on a 100 feet Mast, listened spellbound as the Cadets took the oath in the name of Constitution of India. The Passing Out Cadets repeated the words “I will as in duty bound honestly and faithfully serve in the regular Army of the Union of India and go wherever ordered by Land, Sea or Air and that I will observe and obey all commands of President of the Union of India and the command of any officer set over me even to the peril of my life”.

The newly commissioned officers are now all set to join their new assignment in units across the country. The passing out parade for 136 gentleman cadets and 31 lady cadets was held at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. After the parade the cadets were commissioned in the various wings of the Indian Army.
