JAMMU: On 31 January 2020 dedicated and honest forest officer Sameer Bharti (IFS) retired from Govt. Services as Chief conservator of forest Jammu after rendering more than thirty six year of services. He joined in the forest department as ACF in 1984 and later on inducted as IFS in 1999.
He has served as DFO social forestry Poonch, Project officer Sukhtao Project Rajouri, DFO Social Forestry Udhampur, DFO Reasi, Timber Passing Officer Jammu, Chief Executive Officer IWDP, DFO Urban, DFO Kathua Joint Director Soil Conservation Project Coordinator Chenab Basin Project Batote, DFO Jammu, Conservator of Forests west circle Rajouri member Secretary State Pollution Control Board and Chief Conservator Forests Jammu. During his carrier he has always worked for protection and development of forests in coordination with local communities and for welfare of forest staff.
For his noble work he was felicitated by various organizations including Gandhi Global Family, Nami Dogri Sanstha and Civil Society Trikuta Nagar. The members of Non-Gazetted Forest Officers, IFS Officer Association & Forest Officers of various wings of Forest Department also felicitated and lauded the role of Sameer Bharti for protection of forests in J&K.
Sh. Dilbag Singh (IPS) DGP and Jb. Sohail Kazmi (Eminent Journalist) also felicitated and appreciated his role forest conservation in remote areas of the State. During all felicitation it was conveyed that the best services of the retiring officer will be remembered for ever.
