UDHAMPUR: A Student of Government High School Kawa of district Udhampur, representing the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, bagged the first prize in the Solo Vocal Music category performed at the National Level Kala Utsav Competition 2019. The competition was organized by the Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), at Bhopal which commenced on 2nd January 2020 and concluded on 5th of January 2020.
The girl student namely Khushi qualified for the National Level Competition after winning District level, Provincial level and UT level competitions respectively for final selection. Her melodious voice and beautiful presentation in the form of Dogri Folk song impressed the jury and finally brought laurels and proud moment for the UT of J&K by securing first position in Solo Vocal Music category.
The Chief Education Officer, Purshotam Dutt Sharma congratulated the student for her remarkable achievement and blessed her success. A number of guidance sessions were organized by the District Cultural Cell Udhampur and associated teachers namely Saguna Khajuria, Karuna Gupta, Devinder Thakur, Ravi Sharma and Sunita Shrama, due to which the art sense, hard work and dedication of the student proved at National Level Competition.
