BANDIPORA: An amount of Rs. 75 lakh is being spent under various centrally sponsored schemes of Agriculture Sector in district Bandipora during the current financial year. As many as 62 poly green houses, 07 vermi composite units besides 100 no. of agriculture tool kits with an assistance of Rs. 9.50 lakhs are being provided to the farmers for the development of vegetables in the district.
This was informed by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Bandipora, Abdul Qayoom Shah during a meeting here today. He said that 26 irrigation pump sets, 08 tube wells and 07 water harvesting structures at assistance of Rs. 12.50 lakh have been developed whileas under Apiculture sector, 250 Bee Colonies with Bee hives at a cost of Rs. 4 lakh are being distributed among the beneficiaries. 30 hectares of land has been brought under demonstration programme of oil seed, he added.
The Chief Agriculture Officer informed that 125 manually driven handcarts and 15 motorized vending carts with an assistance of Rs. 11.25 lakh were provided for carriage of farm produce and its dispatch to the market. In addition, Rs. 18 lakh are being incurred on National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) under which water harvesting structures and sustainable agriculture based different systems shall be established.
As many as 1000 Bee Colonies are shortly been distributed among the affected families of Kishan Ganga Hydroelectric Project under CSR Plan of NHPC. A subsidy component of Rs. 20 lakh is being given under the said plan, besides bringing 20 hectares of land under vegetable development in the area spending an amount of Rs. 24 lakh, the Chief Agriculture Officer said.
