DC Bandipora reviews key development works in Sumbal

• Stresses quality & timely fund utilisation

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today conducted an extensive tour of Sumbal sub-division to review the progress of important developmental works being executed in the area.

The inspection covered several ongoing projects, including the Construction of Public Park at Markundal, Sumbal, Construction of Health Sub-Centre at Shilvat, Construction of VAS Quarters at Hajin, and the Development of Fruit and Vegetable Market at Naidkhai under NABARD.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed work status, financial expenditure and physical progress on site. At Markundal, she inspected the construction of the Public Park, where earth filling and fencing had been completed. She directed the executing agency to expedite the execution process and make the facility operational. 

At Shilvat, the DC took stock of the ongoing works at the Health Sub-Centre, where boundary fencing had been completed. She stressed the need to complete the remaining work at the earliest. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Construction of VAS Quarters at Hajin and directed the concerned officers to ensure timely finishing, civil works and electrification. 

Meanwhile, the DC reviewed the Fruit and Vegetable Market being developed under NABARD at Naidkhai and took note of the expenditure incurred and progress achieved. She urged the officers to speed up the execution process and make the facility functional for the farming community without delay.

While interacting with field staff, the DC emphasised maintaining quality, regular supervision and efficient utilisation of funds. She reiterated that all works must adhere to technical specifications and timelines and directed departments to remove bottlenecks where required.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Sumbal, Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh; Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Bandipora, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora and other concerned officers.
