UDHAMPUR: As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Udhampur, Kanika Gupta, One Stop Centre for Women Udhampur organised an awareness Program on "Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 including awareness on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padao', Female Foeticide, Family Disputes, Domestic Violence, Inheritence Rights and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013, at DPO Conference Hall DPO (Poshan) office Udhampur.
In this program, Adv. Akhil Dubey was the Resource person who awared the women present there regarding these acts and their objectives for the benefit of women. He held an interactive session with the audience regarding these acts. He also explained about the New Criminal Laws - Bhartiya Nagrik Sahayta Sanhita, Bharitya Sakshya Sanhita and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita in which sections regarding women rights are mentioned.
Different departments like Mission Vatsalya, Sanginis from mission Poshan, Sankalp HEW, UMEED, Special Women Cell joined the program. Thereafter, Central Administrator, One stop centre for Women Udhampur, Meena Kumari Thakur also expressed her views on the topic. She underlined various services offered by OSC and also told about how it helps the Aggrieved Women who suffer from such offences.
More than 50 participants took benefit of the program with a vow that they will pass on information to the grass root level. Later refreshment was also distributed to the participants.
