DODA: Animal Husbandry Department Doda today launched Round VIII of the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccination Campaign under the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP).

The district-wide vaccination drive will be carried out from July 2 to August 15, 2026, to protect livestock from Foot and Mouth Disease and strengthen animal health across the district.

The campaign was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Doda Anil Kumar Thakur, who said timely vaccination prevents the spread of infectious animal diseases, improves livestock productivity and safeguards the livelihoods of livestock-rearing families. He urged livestock owners to extend full cooperation to field teams to ensure maximum coverage during the campaign.

The department has deployed dedicated vaccination teams across the district to provide door-to-door vaccination and achieve comprehensive immunisation of susceptible livestock under NADCP.

Among those present at the flag-off ceremony were Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Doda Dr Irfan Ali Wani, Superintendent DVH Doda Dr Tariq Hussain, veterinary doctors, para-veterinary staff and officials of the Animal Husbandry Department.
