JAMMU: The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly rejects the so-called "open letter" written by a self-styled group of individuals from India and Pakistan demanding revival of bilateral dialogue.
Reacting sharply, Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu, State Spokesperson, BJP JKUT said that the Honāble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar have repeatedly made it clear that terror and talks, trade and terror, and blood and water cannot flow together.
Pakistan continues to be the global epicenter of terrorism. From 26/11 Mumbai to Pulwama, Uri, and repeated infiltration attempts in J&K, Islamabad has shown no intent to dismantle its terror infrastructure. Any talk of dialogue without Pakistan stopping cross-border terrorism is an insult to the sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians.
Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu further said that the individuals signing such letters do not represent the people of India. This is the same lobby that remained silent when our jawans were martyred, when Kashmiri Pandits were forced into exile, and when Pakistan violated ceasefire agreements.
Their selective activism only serves to give legitimacy to Pakistanās false narrative internationally. Mufti's and Abdhulla's love for Pakistan seem to be perpetual and it needs to be appropriately dealt by the people of Kashmir to whom they exploited merely for power and made them and their generations to suffer all through, reacted Dr. Shishu.
The people of Jammu & Kashmir have suffered the most due to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Today, after the historic abrogation of Article 370, J&K is witnessing peace, development, and tourism like never before. This letter is an attempt to derail the positive atmosphere and bring back the era of uncertainty that Congress-era policies created, said Dr. Shishu.
BJP is committed to national interest. Dialogue with Pakistan is possible only when it stops terrorism, vacates PoJK, and hands over wanted terrorists. Until then, there is no question of engagement. India under PM Modi Ji talks from a position of strength, not compulsion.
Dr. Shishu appealed to the people of J&K and the nation not to be misled by such orchestrated campaigns. āThe Modi Governmentās policy is firm, zero tolerance against terror. National security is non-negotiable,ā he added.
