• Calls for enhanced awareness of Government Schemes, distributes sanction letters among Beneficiaries

KULGAM: Member of Parliament, Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmad today visited Kulgam district and chaired a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.

Prior to the meeting, the MP visited the Drug De-addiction Centre, Kulgam, where he reviewed the facilities and services being provided to patients. He also visited the Mission YUVA Small Business Development Unit (SBDU) and assessed the initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment among youth.

 During the DISHA meeting, the MP took a detailed review of the implementation and progress of various centrally sponsored schemes and developmental programmes in the district. 

The Meeting was attended by MLA, Devsar, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah; Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, ADDC, ADC, JDP, SE, KPDCL, SDM, ACR, ASP, Executive Engineers, CEO, CMO and other officers, besides former District Development Council Chairperson, Mohd Afzal parrey.

The MP reviewed the progress under PMAY-G, PMAY-U, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), PMGSY and other flagship schemes. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the chair about the progress and implementation status of schemes and programmes, through a detailed presentation.

The MP stressed the need for effective coordination among departments, timely execution of projects and ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries. 

He also took stock of the staff position in the Health and Education departments and reviewed the status of vacant posts, emphasizing the need to address manpower gaps to improve service delivery. The MP also called for enhanced awareness of Government Schemes to ensure maximum public benefit.

During the meeting, MLA Devsar also raised various public issues and developmental requirements of the Devsar constituency and sought their timely redressal and consideration under different schemes and programmes. During the programme, the MP distributed sanction letters among beneficiaries under different schemes and interacted with the public during a public interaction-cum-grievance redressal session. 

He also listened to issues and suggestions raised by the people and assured them that their genuine concerns would be taken up for appropriate redressal.

During his visit, the MP also inspected departmental exhibition stalls and visited the Digital Centre of Excellence and the UMEED SHG Canteen, appreciating the efforts being made towards digital empowerment and women-led self-help initiatives.
