BHADERWAH: An Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was organised at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhaderwah.
The programme was attended by students, faculty members and representatives from the Health Department, Social Welfare Department and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Bhaderwah Shahnawaz Ahmad sensitised participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse and urged students to stay away from drugs, adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle and become ambassadors of a drug-free society by spreading awareness among their families and communities.
He also stressed the importance of respecting parents and teachers, saying discipline, good character and moral values are the foundation of a successful life. He encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and work hard towards a prosperous future.
Representatives of the Health Department and NRLM also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of collective efforts in preventing drug abuse and promoting a healthy, responsible society.
At the conclusion of the programme, a pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was administered to all participants, reaffirming their commitment to remain free from drug abuse and contribute towards a healthy, aware and drug-free society.
