JAMMU: The monthly meeting of the Managing Committee of the Home for the Aged & Infirm, Ambphalla, Jammu was held today under the Presidentship of Er. Shri Pankaj Gupta, President. The meeting was attended by Shri Prem Gupta, IPS IGP (Retd.), Patron, Managing Committee Members S. Rattandeep Singh Anand, Sh. Sat Pal Sharma, Dr. Surinder Kumar, Sh. Vijay Dhawan, Sr. Rajinder Singh and Smt. Sudha Gupta.

After the formal welcome address, Agenda items were taken-up by Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary of the Home. The Managing Committee confirmed the minutes of the previous meeting and approved the Income & Expenditure Account for the month of May, 2026. It also reviewed the progress of various welfare and developmental activities, including the installation of lifts in both residential blocks, recovery of shop rentals & other Agenda Points. 

The highlight of today's meeting was the interaction with 78 beneficiaries identified by Tawi Welfare Society, Jammu; Sangharsh Vidhya Kendra, Jammu; Residents Welfare Association, Gangyal; Hari Prabhu Sanstha, Nagrota Guzroo; and Asha Kiran Welfare Society, Janipur receiving monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 each from the Home through these NGOs. The beneficiaries and representatives of NGOs were specially invited for interaction and to ensure transparency, accountability and effective implementation of the Home's financial assistance programme. 

The NGOs & the beneficiaries appreciated the unique initiative of the Home and expressed their gratitude for the humanitarian support being extended to deserving and economically weaker sections of society. The beneficiaries also conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to the Management and the Worthy Donors of the Home for its compassionate approach and timely financial assistance to all those who for social taboo do not come & stay in the oldage Home but are living at their places in worst conditions & need financial help. 

The Committee placed on record its sincere gratitude to all donors whose generous contributions continue to support the humanitarian activities of the Home. The members also appreciated the visits of various educational institutions, dignitaries and social organizations during the month and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening welfare initiatives for senior citizens and other deserving sections of society. 

After the meeting, the members visited the inmates of the Home and interacted with them as well as the staff to obtain first-hand feedback regarding healthcare, food, accommodation and other welfare services. The inmates expressed satisfaction with the facilities and care being provided. 

 

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair and a collective resolve to continue serving senior citizens and the underprivileged with compassion, dignity, transparency and dedication.
