GANDOH: Under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), a TB Screening, Chest X-Ray and Awareness Camp was held at NTPHC Jakyas in Medical Block Gandoh today.

The camp aimed to strengthen early detection of tuberculosis and enhance public awareness on TB prevention, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Health experts educated the public on early diagnosis, treatment adherence and the government's commitment to a TB-free India. On-the-spot chest X-rays were conducted for suspected TB cases to facilitate timely diagnosis and management.

Speaking on the occasion, BMO Gandoh Dr Farooq Saleem stressed the importance of community participation in eliminating tuberculosis. He urged people experiencing persistent cough, fever, weight loss or night sweats to seek immediate medical consultation and appealed to the public to make full use of the free diagnostic and treatment services available under NTEP.

Among those present were Dr Farhat Abbas (Medical Officer), Akhter Rasool (X-Ray Technician), Mubasher Hussain (Senior Treatment Supervisor), Naseer Hussain (Data Entry Operator), Rohit Singh (MLHP), Mehwish Nisha (MLHP), Vinay Happy (Junior Laboratory Technician), Zubeeda Begum (FMPHW) and Uzma Kousar (FMPHW), who participated in the screening and awareness activities.
