JAMMU: The Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has directed all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police to extend their help to the civil administration and public during the situation arising out of incessant rains in the Valley. He said this is high time to reach out to the people and provide immediate assistance to ease their problems. In a communiqué to all field police officers including Range Deputy Inspectors General of Police, District Superintendents of Police, Commandants of Armed and IRP Battalions and Sub-Divisional Police Officers, from Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today, Mr. Rajendra has said that in view of incessant rains in the Valley and some parts of Jammu Division, all the field officers of JKP would remain available round the clock in their jurisdictions for the assistance of civil administration and people. He has asked the senior officers to monitor the situation personally and remain present in Control Rooms, already established, for the assistance of people in coordination with the civil administration.
Mr. Rajendra has said that incessant rains have added the problems of people and JKP has a human responsibility to come forward in this hour of need. He asked for mobilizing all resources for road clearance in the affected areas so that road connectivity is restored. He asked to monitor the weather situation and remain alert to tackle any exigency, causing due to incessant rains. He stressed for better coordination with civil administration to ease the problems of people. In the communiqué, Mr. Rajendra has asked the field officers to ensure proper man management and provide every assistance to the civil administration. He said that as per past practice JKP would remain available for the service of the people and provide helping hand to the needy in this hour of exigency.
