JAMMU: The artists of Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations today organised a cultural programme at district Jail Ambphalla for entertaining the jail inmates by musical items. On the occasion, Superintendent District Jail Ambphalla Mr. Harish Kotwal was the Chief Guest. Jail inmates in large numbers were also present on the occasion and enjoyed the 2-hour long cultural programme. The endeavour of the Information Department is to organise cultural-cum-variety shows in other jails of the Jammu province to provide healthy environment and ease stress of the jail inmates.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent District Jail Ambphalla thanked the Information Department for organising such type of wonderful programme in Jail to ease the stress of jail inmates. He requested for organising similar programme in future also in the other jails of the Jammu province. He said such programmes not only provide entertaining atmosphere to the inmates but also provide them some moments of enjoyment and to leave a soothing effect on their minds.
The artists of Information Department who presented the scintillating cultural programme in the jail which enthralled the inmates included Jeevan Sharma, Vijay Anand, Zulikha Farid, Kamal Kumar, Avtar Kour, Hukam Chand and Banti Kumar. During the 2-hour long cultural programme, the inmates and employees of the jail also showcased their skills in dance, skit and music jointly by Cultural Wing of State Information Department.
