JAMMU: Students of K C Gurukul Public School Paloura, Jammu excelled in inter-school group song competition being organized by GD Goenka Public School Jammu. In the Junior Group K C Gurukul School was adjudged first, whereas in the senior group, K C Gurukul School was declared second. Twelve Schools participated in the competition included APS Domana, DPS Jammu, Jammu Sanskrit, Jodhamal Public School, K C Public School, Nagbani School, Presentation Convent, Stephens International, APS Akhnoor, K.C. Gurukul, Banyan International and St. Xavier School.
The theme of the songs was based on ‘Festivals of India Viz Baisakhi, Holi, Diwali Janamastami, Shivratri so on and so forth. Both Junior and senior groups comprised of 6 students each. The Parameters of judgment were Sur, Tal and Presentation. Only 2 musical instruments were allowed. The judgment was done by renowned personalities. Bishan Dass Ji from cultured academic Harish Keila from Radio Station Jammu. The participants from the senior group were Mavish, Diksha, Punica ,Tanavi, Urvashi, Mavish and Muskaan whereas from the junior group the participants were Ragya, Aditya, Krish, Srijan, Manik, Aryan and Kawalpreet. The Chairman of the school Arvind Mahajan and Academic Director Mrs.Vijay Puri congratulated the students and also lauded the efforts of Vivek Mohan (Music teacher) and Karan(Tabla Player).
