POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal on Thursday chaired a meeting to assess the progress of projects funded under the NABARD Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in the district. The focus was on expediting ongoing construction of roads and bridges while resolving local disputes to ensure speedy completion of the projects.
During the meeting, the Executive Engineer presented updates on the construction status and highlighted various disputes affecting road works. The Deputy Commissioner urged concerned officials, including executive engineers and SDMs, to engage with local residents to address and resolve these issues promptly.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for accelerated forest and revenue clearance processes to streamline development efforts. He called for enhanced inter-departmental coordination to eliminate developmental bottlenecks and conducted a comprehensive review of road projects across all three subdivisions of the district. The Deputy Commissioner urged executing agencies to prioritize both physical and financial progress in order to facilitate timely infrastructure development for the community.
The meeting was attended by SE PWD(R&B), ACR, CPO, DFO(T), SDM Surankote, SDM Mendhar, Executive Engineer PHE Div. Poonch, Executive Engineer and AEE PWD(R&B), Poonch, Mendhar and Surankote besides other concerned.
