KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting of the Sponsorship Foster Approval Committee (SFAC) to review cases under the Mission Vatsalya initiative.

The Committee recommended sponsorship support for 569 eligible children belonging to vulnerable categories, including orphans, children of single parents and specially-abled children.

The Deputy Commissioner, the Committee chairman, stressed the need to ensure timely assistance to all eligible children and effective implementation of welfare schemes aimed at supporting their education, care, protection and overall well-being.

The DC called for close monitoring of the cases to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the intended support without delay. Among others, GM DIC, District Social Welfare Officer Kathua, District Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, District Coordinator, Special Adoption Agency and Member, Muskan Foundation attended the meeting.
