BANDIPORA: With a view to make proactive disclosure under Section 4 of J&K Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2009, a Public Grievances Camp was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Shah Faisal at Nowgam Sumbal. During the camp, comprehensive report with regard to losses and relief provided to the families affected by devastating floods was presented before the public. Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, concerned officers, Panchayat members besides people including flood victims attended the camp.
BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, today inspected various sections of his office. During the inspection, 13 employees including one Senior Assistant, 7 Junior Assistants, 4 Orderlies and one Operator were found unauthorizedly absent from their duties. The absentees were placed under suspension on the spot and attached with personal section of DC. The Additional Deputy Commissioner has been directed to conduct an enquiry and furnish the report within three days.
SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, convened an officers meeting to review the progress under RMSA and SSA here today. It was informed that 5 buildings have been completed and handed over to the Education department under RMSA while 67 Primary School buildings and 18 Middle School buildings have been taken up for construction under SSA and remaining buildings are yet to be taken up due to non-availability of land.
The DC constituted a committee headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue to look into clearance of backlog of 65 Primary School buildings and 23 Middle School buildings. Chief Education Officer Srinagar was further directed to follow up land acquisition cases with collector in respect of few schools for which funds have already been provided out the state sector schemes.
SRINAGAR: Director Law Enforcement, conducted an inspection of various districts of Kashmir Valley viz. Pulwama, Shopian and Baramulla to check enforcement of Insecticides Act and Fertilizer Control Order by the registered stockists, distributors and dealers. The concerned were given on the spot instructions to ensure maintenance of stock registers and issuance of cash and credit memos in tune with the format under Rule 15 of Insecticides Rules.
BUDGAM: District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, today convened a meeting to review progress of Sheep Husbandry sector in the district. Briefing the meeting, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, stated that the sheep population of the district has reached 1.87 lakh while goat population is 0.61 lakh, so far. Besides, the district has registered a wool production of 3.38 lakh Kg besides recording 13.64 lakh Kg mutton production. During the current financial year, the department has treated 68801 sheep and goats. The meeting was informed that during current financial year incentives of Rs. 0.25 lakh have been given to Chopans. The District Development Commissioner asked the officers to work with dedication and honesty.
BUDGAM: District Magistrate, Budgam has ordered imposition of Section 144 Cr. P.C in and around the examination centres in view of 12th class examinations being conducted in the district by J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) with effect from March 02, 2015. Any congregation of five or more people and carrying of any copying material in or around these centres have been banned. This order shall remain in force till examinations are over. However, the order shall not apply to security force and police personnel deployed for the purpose of maintaining law and order in nominated examination centres.
KUPWARA: An awareness camp for Extension Officers of Agriculture department in district Kupwara was organized here today. During the camp, Extension Officers and seed dealers were acquainted with effective ways of implementation of centrally sponsored schemes like RKVY, NMSA, NFSM and MIDH. The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sogam presided over the function. The Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara, Project Director ATMA, NMAAT and other officers were present on the occasion. The Chief Agriculture Officer informed that an amount of Rs. 140 lakh is being incurred under centrally sponsored schemes during the current financial year.

The other important issues taken up during the meeting included de-notification of land falling out of new alignment, proposal for already acquired land, forest clearance for new alignment, mutation of pending cases and maintenance of Red Accounts. The DDC directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the process of land acquisition so that the vital project would not be delayed and completed in a fixed time frame. Among others, ADC Reasi Shiv Kumar Gupta, Collector Land Acquisition-Northern Railway, SDM Mahore, DFO Mahore, DFO Reasi besides other senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
UDHAMPUR: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Housing Colony, Udhampur, here today. The problems and demands put forth by the inhabitants of the Colony included handing over of Housing Colony from Housing Board Department to Municipality besides proper sanitation, deployment of sweepers, erection of dustbins, maintenance of park, proper distribution of ration, plantation, plying of matador and repair of PHE pipes etc.
The DDC assured early mitigation of genuine problems of the general masses of the area. Mudgal directed CEO Municipality Council to deploy sweepers on rotational basis on alternate days for proper sanitation besides he was directed to submit the status report in connection with taking over of housing colony. Among others, Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, Executive Engineer R&B, PDD, Housing board, Assistant Director CAPDD besides senior officers of various departments including large number of people were present in the camp.
DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Mr Bhupinder Kumar visited Dunadi to assess the pace of progress of restoration work on Thatri-Gandoh road which was blocked due to slides and triggering of boulders. While inspecting the road clearance work, the DDC directed Executive Engineer PMGSY and Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) to gear up their men and machinery and expedite the pace of the works so that road is cleared in the shortest possible time.
During the tour, the DDC also took stock of availability of essential commodities and medicines in different stores and hospitals in the area and directed SDM Thatri to ensure the availability of sufficient stock of essential commodities besides asked him to ensure transportation of the commodities to the areas where there is any shortage for temporary relief. It is pertinent to mention here that due to recent heavy rains in the district, a large portion of Thatri-Gandoh road got damaged and huge population of Gandoh and other parts of Bhallesa remained cut off from the main headquarter due to triggering of slides at Dunadi and other places.
KATHUA: Rural Development Department Kathua organized one day workshop on implementation of Electronic Fund Management Services (EFMS) under MGNREGA here today. District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary inaugurated the workshop while Director, Rural Development Department, Jammu G. N. Balwan, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Programme Officers, Block Development Officers, Panchyat Secretaries, Executive Engineers, REW, AEE, GRS, AAO and Data Entry operators participated in the workshop. As many as, 375 delegates participated in the workshop. While speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner enjoined upon the officers and other participants to keep no stone unturned for optimum achievement in various schemes launched by Rural Development Department.
Director RDD said that direct benefit scheme will help long way to ensure the transparency and fast disposal of various entitlements under various centrally sponsored schemes. Earlier, ACD Kathua Tilak Raj briefed the participants regarding the implementation of MGNREGA. Resource persons from Rural Development Department and National Informatics Centre gave detailed resume of the programme and apprised the participants of modes of electronic fund management service. They also trained the Data Entry Operators for online fund transfer so that the benefits of the various centrally sponsored schemes especially MGNREGA can percolate down to the deserving masses without any pilferage.
RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari, convened a meeting of District Child Protection Committee (DCPC) for strengthening child protection mechanism in the district. CMO, CEO, CPO, AD Labour, Dy. SP Hqr, President BAR Association and representatives of BCPC, CPC and Children Groups attended the meeting. The meeting was facilitated by National Development Foundation Jammu and Save the Children under a programme supported by European Union.
Mr. Rajiv Khajuria, gave a detailed account of ICPS scheme and JJ Act. It was informed in the meeting that committee members have identified various child protection issues including Child Trafficking, Child Labour and child discrimination, neglect and corporal punishment in Ramban. DDC directed the CEO to issue strict orders for corporal punishment free schools and introduction of child safeguarding policy with technical support from NDF. He directed the Social Welfare Department and NDF to convene quarterly meetings of DCPC. Meanwhile, the action plan for DCPC was also finalized in the meeting.
RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Farooq Shah Bukhari convened a meeting of district officers to finalise the arrangements for two day employment fair at Batote. It was revealed in the meeting that District Employment and Counselling Centre, Ramban in coordination with District Administration would organise two-day employment fair at Government Higher Secondary School, Batote from March 03, 2015.
During the fair, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Rural Development Departments and different banks will participate and display their schemes through stalls. Besides, experts and resource persons will remain available in the fair to guide the educated unemployed youth about various self-employment schemes. CPO, CMO, CHO, AD Employment, DSHO and various district heads of different departments attended the meeting
